Heron Gate began as a complicated 'School Marm'; a cedar tree that was crushed as a sapling, then grew between two giant trees. It stands 21 feet tall, 11 feet between its widest 'wings', all its 'wings' are within 2 feet wide. The crosspiece is 8 feet off the ground, the head was carved from a special '7' shaped large branch of cedar.
